SnapVocab for Android (beta)
Last updated · SnapVocab
SnapVocab is on Google Play as a closed test while we finish the public listing. Anyone with a Google account can join. It installs and updates through the Play Store, like any other app.
How to join
Three taps, on the Android phone you will use it on.
Join the testers group. Google Play only lets members of this group into the test. Tap Join group; nothing else is needed and the group sends no email.
Opt in on Google Play. Use the same Google account. If Play says you are not eligible, wait a few minutes after joining the group and reload.
Install from the Play Store. The opt-in page links straight to the listing. Open SnapVocab and sign in with Google or an email address.
What "beta" means here
- It is the real app on the real server, with your progress saved to your account — but it is early, and some things will break.
- Play updates it for you. When the public listing goes live you keep the same app and the same progress.
- Tell us what breaks at hello@snapvocabapp.com. The app sends no crash reports, so a bug we are not told about stays.
- Pro is a paid subscription through Google Play, and the free plan stays free. Every new account gets Pro free within 24 hours. Didn't get it? Email hello@snapvocabapp.com.
Already on the direct-download build?
The earlier beta installed from a downloaded file. The Play version is signed differently, so it cannot install over it: uninstall the old build first, then follow the steps above and sign in with the same account. Your words and progress are kept on the account, not the phone.
On an iPhone?
There is no iPhone beta. Leave your email and we will send one message, on the day SnapVocab is on the App Store.
You are on the list.
We will email you once, the day SnapVocab lands in the stores. Until then, see how the word lists were built.
